and toasty and warm inside today. >> you are. >> let's get to meteorologist rob marciano, tracking it all, at the cnn weather center in atlanta. >> good morning, soledad. what happen yesterday, you will get a feel what's happening today. the totals won't be the same today. a foot and a half middleton, wisconsin. dubuque, iowa, a foot or more with blowing or drifting snow. and that caused some travel problems yesterday. 67-mile-an-hour wind gusts at the st. louis airport. right now, de-icing there because of the cold. other air traffic delays, ground traffic stops and laguardia, two-hour delays, and three-hour delays already at newark. those are just going to continue to pile up. bag storm, a lot of snow behind us. michigan, parts of indiana, blowing, drifting snow, wind gusts on the shores much lake michigan over 0 mil50 miles an . imagine the waves. all rain from trendon up through bridgeport. some heavy at times. sleet mixing in and snow across parts of the canadian border, winds across a large swath. wind gusting to 50 miles per hour, enough to do some damage. snow totals expected in t

. >> rob marciano is tracking the storms from the cnn weather center in atlanta. how is it looking in the near future, rob? >> well, a bit of a break today, soledad. more rain coming tomorrow. you saw the folks dealing with the rain about fall, cars driving through it. the rivers rushing. but we have infrastructure damage, as well. some video out of oakland in and around this area, lafayette there, this home damage, a number of them, you get near the hillside, that brings down debris and boulders and mud, and that does damage not only to homes but on the other side of roadways, we've got damage from a number of primary and secondary roads in and around this bay area. a tremendous amount of rainfall that has just undermined those structures. so you've got issues with that, as well. of course people driving through these flooded streets. you've got a need for rescues. the fire departments and their swift water rescue teams were out in full force over the weekend rescuing people. this is in cuss cadder ra and a number of other people had to be rescued. napa valley tremendous rainfall

today. let's get right to meteorologist rob marciano. he is following it all from the cnn weather center in atlanta. good morning. >> good morning, zoraida. this is the worst stretch of storms that northern california has seen really in about two years. another punch today then we'll set up for a dry trend. the good news is that it has been dry so the ground, even though we've seen a lot of major flooding, the ground has absorbed a fair amount of it. seattle to portland, rain right now. snow at the highest elevations, and the rain will eventually push down into san francisco and sacramento later on today. this system is actually messing up the atmosphere and creating a lot of warmth across much of the country. if you live anywhere east of the rockies, actually anywhere east of the cascades and sierras, you're feeling it. temperatures, record breaking yesterday, into the 60s and 70s across parts of the midwest. 20 and 30 degrees above average. that would be the case again today, and then a little bit of a cooldown as we go through time. but watching the rain closely across san francisco a
